Dancing with Helpdesk
Sitting in my office with a co-worker, listening to dance music, while he is busy working on an arcane application install. Ahhh … the good-life of dedicated IT people. Although, given the current hour of the evening, it is still early and I MIGHT just be able to catch UFO something-or-another on the EU’s version of History Channel. YEEEEAH ME!
Based upon the help desk personnel at the other end of the call, this may be a long night. Not for me mind you, I’ll end up falling asleep at the desk and have the life sucked out of me by the vampirous mosquitoes of death. Then again, my fellow co-worker will probably go down first due to the reaction of his “Customer Support” call.
It reminds me of the YouTube.com video of what the US Marines thought of HP Tech Support when they called in for a printer issue. I think their end-result of the call utilized a .50 machine gun and a video phone … both of whih, we have access to … and the night is still young.
